Who needs a hydrant? Here’s a short clip of the GRFD drafting water directly from the Great South Bay with engine 3-9-6. The stream from the top of the engine is a “master stream”┬ácapable of moving a tremendous volume of water when needed.

 

MVA with Negative PI & Vehicle Extrication at SCFA

On May 11, 2011 while gearing up for extrication training at the SCFA, Great River FD was activated for a MVA involving two vehicles at the corner of River Road and Woodhollow Road. Great River responded with a full crew including Rescue 394, Engine 392 and 398. Exchange Ambulance was on scene with two ambulances.

After clearing the scene, Great River FD continued on to the SCFA for MVA and extrication training.
