Fire Island Pines Blaze

At 10:36 pm on May 20th, the Great River Fire Department was requested to the scene of a working structure fire involving two homes on the Fire Island Pines. Great River responded with fire boat 3-9-26 with a crew of 4 and a pilot. The fire was contained just before midnight. Despite high winds, departments on scene were able to protect the surrounding residences. Additional departments included Fire Island Pines, Cherry Grove FD, Bayport FD, Sayville FD, East Islip FD, Sayville EMS, and Exchange EMS. A good job by all. Stay safe.
