Upon arrival, the crew of Engine 3-9-6 found a working brush fire having already consumed a 20′ x 20′ area. The crew pulled a 1 3/4″ hand line and extinguished the fire quickly. West Sayville Fire Department Brush 3-10-10 was on scene and assisted with extinguishing hot spots. The origin looked to be hot coals dumped in the brush.

Ride along with Captain Llobell as the Great River Firefighters practice on the “taxpayer” building at the Suffolk County Fire Academy. This version of the video is a rough cut, it is full length and hasn’t been edited down. Upon arrival, PD had removed and secured the driver. GRFD secured the vehicle and the incident was declared under control shortly thereafter.
