Great River responded with fire boat 3-9-26 with a crew of 4 and a pilot. The fire was contained just before midnight. Despite high winds, departments on scene were able to protect the surrounding residences. Additional departments included Fire Island Pines, Cherry Grove FD, Bayport FD, Sayville FD, East Islip FD, Sayville EMS, and Exchange EMS. A good job by all. Stay safe.

The crew of first due engine 3-9-2 under command of 3-9-31 and direction of 3-9-50 immediately pulled 1 3/4″ jump line and extinguished the blaze within minutes. Other apparatus on scene included engine 3-9-6 and mass personnel carrier 3-9-8.
