History and Mission

The Great River Fire Department was established in 1916.

The Mission of the Great River Fire Department is the protection of lives and property of the citizens of Great River from the adverse effects of fire, emergencies and hazardous situations on land or water.

The GRFD Firefighters will serve with dedication, courage, innovation, responsiveness, courtesy, caring and professionalism while performing their duties of fire and emergency response, education and prevention.
